Important Issues

Isn't it sad when so many people have to focus on who can or cannot get married and why or why not when there are so many far more important things to take care of in this country and in the world. I fear that the 2004 presidential campaign is going to focus on this and other non-issues instead of the economy especially the exportation of jobs to other countries as well as our relationship with other countries. In other campaigns we have heard the question, "Are you better off now than in ____ ? (fill in the year) This time the answer should be a resounding NO and not whether Bill & Steve, or Jane & Sally, got married. If they are in a loving and committed relationship, great. Let them live their lives in happiness and free from government intervention.

As for outsourcing of jobs, I heard one guest on the Lou Dobbs program recently say that it is a necessary part of business survival. Well, how damn short sighted can you get? If they ship so many jobs overseas that result in so much unemployment in this country or else just low paying job being the only possibility, then how the hell are those businesses going to survive when so few people in this country can afford their products or services? My god, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

I think America is starting to wake up and I hope the Democrats lay it on Mr Bush and his buddies very heavily in this matter. Congress can create a level playing field but will it is the question.
