My favorite letter to the editor of the SF Chronicle today reads as follows:

"Pardon my ignorance, but I feel the best Republican ticket in November would be John McCain/Colin Powell--for the good of the nation."

Now there is a combination I could vote for but unfortunately it is extremely difficult to unseat a sitting president at the National Convention by nominating someone else. I don't think it has ever been done. Nice thought though.
